Happy Wednesday, everyone! This week is our last week of “All Things Thanksgiving” with next week beginning our Christmas posts… I decided to wait because I just wasn’t ready for them this year. I know as bloggers we usually want our ideas out there early, but I just wasn’t feeling it. I’m sorry…

On another note, we have been having “Santa Ana’s” in North Texas this week (warm winter winds) usually in Southern California. Funny too, it FEELS like a So Cal fall day! ~ three days in a row in the high 70’s! The cold front returns this evening, though, so the confused plants will just have to get over this warm spell. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Now, let’s get to this week’s features! (Nothing finished from me this week.)

And here are this week’s featured posts…

Debra from Common Ground gets my vote for the comfiest porch in this post ~ Cozying Up the Back Porch. Sooo pretty and inviting!

Rita from Panoply shared this lovely table set for Turkey Day in her post ~ Thankful… All kidding aside, there is much to be thankful for this year. <3
Sandra from Come to Dinner at Eight shared this perfect for late fall Autumn Tones for a Tray. So warm and inviting!!!

Happy Wednesday to y’all! Oh my, are you having a tough time with the time change?? Does your area even do daylight savings time? I know some countries and areas of the United States do not.

No matter whether we “fall back” or “spring forward,” I am always a bit wiped out with the change. How about for you? This is probably what’s up with our kiddos at school, too. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Anyway, I feel better after last week’s knock in the head and am back to work after three days off on Worker’s Comp.

So with that, let’s take a look at what I shared this past week and your wonderful featured posts…

Hello everyone! I have been taking a break from blogging these past couple of weeks, as you can see by the lack of posts here in October. It’s not that I don’t have some pics for you, but I can’t:

  1. Photograph the kitchen because it is a mess.
  2. The new washer and dryer are in, but I kept the old dryer for a friend. Turns out her new house isn’t set for a gas dryer… So, we still need to post it out on Facebook Marketplace and see if someone could use it. It is sitting in the dining room area next to the china hutch.
  3. I am just tired from working five days a week. I love my job working with Special Education, but my body is tired. The whack in the head a few weeks ago when an 8′ post dislodged after I closed the gate (which didn’t close well; Charles has now fixed that, thank you!) didn’t do me any favors, either. Yoda was hit with it also. I did go to the emergency room on the following Monday and I just had a mild concussion. ๐Ÿ™‚

So I am hoping to get back to regular posts soon! I’ve been walking a lot and we are still working on the fence. We are going to begin putting in posts for the south fence this coming weekend and we are also going to work on insulating the new garden shed. It’s still good weather outside so this is the time to get fall projects done. ๐Ÿ™‚

And here are this week’s featured posts…

Debra from Common Ground is back with a lovely all-white fall vignette in this post (featuring her Snowy Owls DIY) ~ October Entry with Snow Owls. Lovely!!!

Well, my computer is fixed but for whatever reason, WordPress has gone and done something with how one “colors” words/phrases, etc… The weird yellow highlighting sections last week WAS NOT there when I published and now it is, and I can’t remove any of it without redoing the section… Makes me want to roll my eyes and act like one of my PABS students, lol!

This is also going to be a short SYS this week because I have a raging migraine from too much noise at school today (mostly students screaming).

I will publish here at 6:00pm but it won’t be DONE until probably closer to 7:00pm with all the features, just so you know. ๐Ÿ™‚ Other than that, Hubby and I picked up more wood posts and some other materials this past weekend prepping for Phase 2 of the fence move/rebuild. Hopefully beginning this coming weekend, depending upon weather. ๐Ÿ™‚

Well, let’s get into this week’s features, shall we??

Hubby is back travelling for work and has been to Pennsylvania a month ago and to California these past few weeks. On the weekends, though, when he is home we have been working on the back fence in earnest…

Yoda keeps getting out as he really only sees light and shapes now so last weekend we worked hard getting four posts cemented in behind the shed, buying boards and planks at Home Depot, and beginning the process of building the fence. So, I haven’t put out any posts for you this time. ๐Ÿ˜‰

This is what I am working on for next week’s Pinterest Challenge, though, so here is a sneak peek:

***SYS is getting out a tiny bit late today because… A BIG box with Bright and Shiny came today!!! (Okay, really more Chippy White…)

Of course I had to snap a few pics… ๐Ÿ˜‰

Can’t wait to share!!! XD

And, I am sooo inspired by all the fall posts coming out (and the fact that this weekend was just the tiniest bit cooler) that I am looking for fall posts now… If you have some fun ones in the works, do link those, too!

As for myself, I’ve moved more garden items into the shed and have been cleaning everything before it gets in there. Three mice were living on the hutch, so it was sprayed and wiped down with disinfectant before it ever got carried in last week. Now it’s just wiping all the other things. ๐Ÿ˜‰ And I tweaked the SYS logo pic just a bit for fall… Still loving the dried roses in the background.

Here’s what I shared this past week at French Ethereal…

And here are this week’s featured posts…

With fall weddings in the works, I just had to share this fun post by Michelle at her new blog Wedding Soirรฉes Blog by K’Mich. My son and daughter-in-love had their first dog in their wedding photos… Luna loved being with them and I think she knew it was special… (So doggone adorable, don’t you think?!!)

green sequined dress, green satin kimono, formal wear, fashion over 40, Shelbee on the Edge, Style Imitating Art
Sooo excited that Shelbee from Shelbee on the Edge shared this post in her continuing series called Style Imitating Art: Ellen Terry as Lady MacBeth by John Singer Sargent. Lovely rendition and the turquoise blue-greens are stunning as is Shelbee’s amazing dress!
The Soul of a Rose, John William Waterhouse

I love Sargent’s work and have several of my own from others who painted in this style. This group of painters were called The Pre-Raphaelites. Here is The Soul of a Rose, my personal favorite print bought on my birthday one year, and one I have as a greeting card ~ which was taped up as “art” when we were living in our trailers, you may recall. Love love love this ethereal style of art they captured in these paintings!!!
