Share Your Style #501

A close-up of pink flowers with greenery in the background, featuring text overlay announcing 'Share Your Style' with event details for Wednesdays and Thursdays at 6pm CST, alongside topics like home decor, DIY, and gardens.

Hello everyone and welcome to this week’s Share Your Style #501! Yes, we have rolled over into a new “century,” or centuria, per Google AI. I looked it up, and yes, this is the correct word as “century” encompasses “any grouping of 100 things,” and not just our typical understanding of the word. Pretty cool! Well, let’s jump into this week’s features, shall we? And yes… We have a winner!

I am Barbara Chapman and I’d love it if you’d follow me here on my blog and on any of my other social media sites, too.  Thank you!๐Ÿ’œ

Right off, I want to thank you to everyone who liked, subscribed and went over and did the same on my Instagram and Facebook pages! I appreciate your participating in last week’s RafflePress “Tea in a Basket” Giveaway where we reached the milestone of 500 SYS posts.

A vintage bust wearing a large straw hat adorned with flowers, placed on a wooden table next to a basket filled with snacks, a jar, two patterned teacups, and a cake mix box, with a vase of purple flowers in the background.
“Tea in a Basket” minus the tea mystery book by Laura Childs, which I forgot to put into the basket when taking the first round of photographs, lol!

And our winner is: Jackie Borin from Arizona! Congratulations to you Jackie!!!

Jackie and I have been friends from way back when our boys were in kindergarten or even preschool together. We lived just a few houses away from each other, and Sam and Peter often spent the night at one or the other of our houses ~ on weekends during the school year and more during the summers. They were in Tiger Cubs together in the same troop and squad (can’t quite remember what that was called), then Cub Scouts and Webelos as part of the Boy Scouts of America. They were both in up until the end of middle school, I think. Peter finished his Scouting days as a senior in high school earning his Eagle award. Lots of fond memories there…

I do wish I could have sent everyone who entered a basket of goodies. ๐Ÿ™‚

Maybe we will do another giveaway for Christmas! Now that I know how to use the RafflePress widget. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Thank you to everyone again for entering!!!

Now onto today’s featured posts…

.

Here’s what I shared this past week at French Ethereal…

Coming up in tomorrow’s post, we will be taking a look at what I did and who I visited with in California. The skies were perfect with 80 degree days all week long! Ocean breezes swept into the Sacramento Valley coming over the Coastal range and right off the Pacific. Like all good vacations, I am always happy to return home.

Now that I am rested from the trip, I am back working on the buffet I started on about two summers ago (actually, three summers and into that fall of 2023!). It is coming along. ๐Ÿ˜‰ And it smells a heck of a lot better!

Hopefully I will finish work on it this weekend and have a post sharing its transformation in a couple of weeks. I will be trying it again in the house. Fingers crossed & prayers appreciated!

    1. Always!! Jeanie, I am so glad you enjoyed the feature and are enjoying my travel posts. Wish I could get on the road more often, but… There’s that thing called “money…” Lol! ๐Ÿ˜‰ Charles and I hope to get out and do something later towards the end of summer.

Happy beginning to a new week,
      Barb ๐Ÿ™‚

  1. Barb, what a lovely surprise! Thank you for featuring my Charm of Finches tablescape! BTW you can almost see my daughter’s neighborhood from the Sandia tram. (Though I don’t want to ever find out for myself lol.)

    1. Sandra, I am actually afraid of heights but I felt pretty comfortable on the tram. Only going over posts, with the sway, felt a little uncomfortable. The beautiful scenery takes over, kind of like having to get on an airplane to go places, you just do it to “Get There…” ๐Ÿ˜‰ Your daughter is lucky to live in Albuquerque… It is probably my favorite place out west! I really would love to retire there, if we could afford it. So many great places to hike and the trails are small rocks or paved, not cement. Glad you enjoyed the feature, too!

Happy start to a new week,
      Barb ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. It’s always a pleasure to share with you on your link party, Barb. Thanks so much for the feature for the “Sumer Garden” post. We’ve been eating berries and other goodies for the last couple of weeks. Have a great week.
    Lynne, Thrifting Wonderland

    1. Lynne, isn’t it wonderful to eat from the garden? I’ve been munching strawberries for a couple of months now, if the birds don’t find them first! ๐Ÿ˜‰ Glad you enjoyed the feature!!

      Happy new week,
      Barb ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. Congratulations to Jackie in AZ! Barb, thank you for continuing the party and sharing with us some great features each week.

    1. Thanks, Rita! I enjoy hosting the party and realized after a while running it alone, that I could really make it my own. It has been fun and brings so many new friends this way. ๐Ÿ™‚ Glad I could take the reins when you were ready to retire.

      Hugs,
      Barb ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. Happy new centuria, Barb! Thanks so much for hosting us!

    1. Thank you, Pam! I will look for your “new” blog!! And try to remember to list your old and new blog names for everyone, so they can find you. <3

      Have a great new week,
      Barb ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. So many great features this week, Barb. I love the buffet you are working on. It’s so beautiful. I am trying to get back to joining link parties now that the school year is ending and I have a bit more time. I hope you are well, my friend!

    Shelbee

    1. Hi Shelbee! I am glad you have come by!! I will look for your post link-ups. ๐Ÿ™‚ I hear you… It’s so hard when our kids are in school; there just isn’t enough time in the day between work, then switching to picking up the kids, homework, sports and other family things… ๐Ÿ™‚ I am doing well! Just back from 18 days on the road driving to and back from Reno, NV, and to the Sacramento area in California. A lot of post and one more to write! Kind of a nice “going home” since I grew up from age 12 through 26 in Northern California.

Have a great new week and I will look for your posts!
      Big hugs,
      Barb ๐Ÿ™‚

  6. Wow ๐Ÿ˜ฎ Canโ€™t believe I won the basket but will put all those items to good use. Thank you! A lovely selection of style features this week – really enjoyed spending time going h through them.

    1. Jackie, I know we’ve already chatted but publicly I wanted to say that I am glad you won! This has been fun and longtime readers have been stopping by, which is really nice. I hope the basket arrives on time this week for you! <3

      Big hugs,
      Barb ๐Ÿ™‚
