Happy Wednesday, y’all! I hope you all enjoyed our nation’s Independence Day and weekend. We had a quiet weekend over here watching movies, working out in the yard, and just doing the normal things around the house. We had a little rain during the weekend, but I’m sure you already know about the tragedy down in the Hill Country of Central Texas with the historic 100 year flooding… Please continue keeping those affected in your prayers. And for the folks in the Carolinas and Florida who are still recovering from last year’s hurricane, and our own Houston/Galveston area. Louisiana… Lots of prayers needed for our fellow countrymen who deal with flooding sometimes yearly… ๐

On a happier note, my daughter and her roommate live in North Austin and they had a lot of rain, but they were otherwise safe. In a way, I’m glad she moved to where she is now as there had been a small creek close by the house they had rented from mid-2023 to earlier this year…

I had planned to restart paying for “Inlinkz” for these weekly SYS parties; however… When I was paying $2.99/month ($35.88/year), that was fine. I could afford that price.
Inlinkz went up in price to $7.99/month ($95.88/year). That’s a crazy increase for something that goes over fiberoptic cables and there are basically no change in benefits. Sorry to be complaining, but that is highway robbery, and greed in my opinion.
Also, that is an increase of 167%! I cannot afford that, especially since I just retired from the school district. Mr. Ethereal is making less at his new job, too, but at least he is working. We are thankful for that, but we just cannot take on any more debt.
French Ethereal will be staying on the FREE Inlinkz plan for the long term, which only allows 50 entries each party. The best part is that the plan costs $0.00. ๐
Well, no posts for me this week. ๐ I couldn’t get the kitchen table cleaned off enough to create a 4th of July tablescape. During the winter, Mr. Ethereal began shredding old files we’ve had since we were first married. I am continuing on with this shredding and there are three storage boxes full to go through! We killed out old shredder already; bought a new one over the holiday weekend. ๐
We will see if it survives the summer… ;)’
Now let’s get this party started!

I am so grateful your daughter is safe. The flood (and for that matter, all the weather disasters) are wreaking havoc and tragedy, aren’t they? I’m sorry to hear the price has gone up so much — that’s bizarre. And I must have missed that you retired. Three cheers on that one. I think you’ll enjoy! Thanks for including me in the features and happy week!
PS — how many links do you usually get? Perhaps you could limit us to one or two instead of three if you need to do that and keep within your free limit.
So happy your daughter was not in danger. Water can be so destructive. Hope you are really enjoying your retirement. I know what you mean about rising costs. As a blogger I have seen everything go up in price dramatically over the past several years. I agree with the above comment. Perhaps limiting the number of posts from a single blogger would help.
