My inlaws drove home safely ~ it was really nice to visit with my mother-in-law Gini, SIL Jodi and nephew Corey over the past two weeks! I know they were happy to get home last Saturday afternoon, as we all are after a long trip away. 🙂

I am finally feeling better after coming down with an “unspecified virus” which the doctor at the local urgent care thinks might be Post-Covid Syndrome. I am just happy I tested negative for a number of things and the results just came back from the mammogram. Nothing out of the ordinary; just the usual-for-me fibrous tissue. 💜

We took down the old shed and are waiting for the new one’s arrival! It looks like it might come on Friday so I sent off to the City to request a final permit. There should be no issues now since all their issues were with location and the rest had previously been finalized. I’ll be happy when it is fully installed and I no longer have to talk to the City…

And can you believe it is 4th of July this weekend, already??… Where has time flown?? Lots of fun ideas here this week for celebrating!

Here’s what I shared this past week at French Ethereal…

Prepping for a New Shed ~ the saga continues and I am ready to be DONE!

I had to work the front gate on the night they did the “glow” for the Temecula Valley Balloon and Wine Festival (when we lived on Lake Skinner, our year + as RV camp hosts), BUT we could see a little from the main entry kiosk! 🙂 And of course lots of balloons flying over the next morning!

  1. That’s great news on the mammogram! Sorry you had come down with another covid like virus 🙁 I hope it doesn’t mar your summer.
    And thanks for the feature!

  2. Thank you for hosting again, Barb! BTW, good news regarding your mamogram! Glad you are feeling better from the virus. Hope you have a wonderful 4th of July!

    Hugs,

    1. Thank you, Tiffany! Feeling much better and hopefully no more bugs… 🙂 The 4th was good but busy digging. Hope yours was good, too!! Enjoy this upcoming weekend, Barb 🙂

  3. I know you had a wonderful time with your visiting family! I can’t wait until I can visit mine in Ohio — or they can come down here, lol. Thanks for hosting and have a wonderful Fourth of July!

    1. Hello Sandra! I hope you get to visit with your family soon… It’s been really hard on so many people NOT being able to see family. I just flew out to Tennessee for a family wedding and it was really nice to see one of my brothers and his family. His son just got married and it was wonderful celebrating with them all! You know, just make plans and make the drive. 🙂 Now that we are here in Texas, it’s basically two days to anywhere we would like to go here in the US (okay, except Hawaii and maybe Alaska because that’s really far, lol!). Really though, make plans and hop on the road. <3 Life is too short not to get together. Sending big hugs and love that you can see your family soon!!! Barb :)

  4. Barb, I am so sorry to hear that you were not feeling well. Sending you lots of positive healing energy! And thank you so much for featuring my mental health post this week. It is an important topic especially as we begin transitioning back to regular living. I hope you have a wonderful holiday weekend.

    1. Thank you so much, Debbie! I did see your shout-out in your post. I appreciate it!! Here’s to another weekend and yes, our 4th was good if not super busy digging!! Hugs, Barb 🙂

  6. Thanks so much for hosting the party. I’m glad you’re feeling better. I can’t believe it’s July!

    1. Hi Pam, thank you so much! Yes, I can hardly believe it is July, either. Almost time for me to go back to school… Too fast! Glad you enjoyed Share Your Style and I’ll look for your posts. <3 Hugs to you, Barb :)

  7. Barb, so glad you are feeling better and had such a nice family visit. I had my mammo last week and although not worried, it’s always a bit of a relief to get the all clear, Really appreciate the balloon festival feature! We are so looking forward to traveling again. Hubby and I have a trip to CA in Sept to drive the coast, visit a wine country, and three big national parks. In the meantime we are hosting and visiting with family and friends.Have a great 4th!

    1. Debbee, sounds like a nice trip coming up! Do enjoy the coast!! If you get up to Big Sur, Julia Pfeiffer State Park is a wonderful place to camp and they used to have night hikes without flashlights (your eyes adjust just fine to walking in moonlight) and that was wonderful (1980’s and 1990’s, last time we were there). Hearst Castle is always fun to explore, too. My MIL says there’s a fire already… That’s probably the only awful thing to have to be concerned with, but otherwise your trip should be great. The wine country is wonderful, too! Enjoy Yosemite if you get there. We never did go… Charles could never plan for time off and camping requires a 6 month to 1 year in advance reservation, so maybe one day as a vacation. Happy new weekend to you and Mr. Whisky! Hope he does well on the long leash!!! My mother went into dog training after retiring from Special Ed teaching and loved it immensely. Miss her… <3 Big hugs to you and your pup, Barb :) p.s. Sorry he is sad that Bentley and the grown kids went home. :('

    1. Thank you, MaryJo! We did have a nice 4th of July (slept in everyday!) although we had to spend most of it digging a 50′ drain. 😉 We did manage a little BBQ and visited with friends and family over phone/FaceTime. Still good!! Hope yours was a nice weekend, too. <3 Enjoy this upcoming weekend, Hugs,Barb :)
