Hello everyone! I have been taking a break from blogging these past couple of weeks, as you can see by the lack of posts here in October. It’s not that I don’t have some pics for you, but I can’t:

  1. Photograph the kitchen because it is a mess.
  2. The new washer and dryer are in, but I kept the old dryer for a friend. Turns out her new house isn’t set for a gas dryer… So, we still need to post it out on Facebook Marketplace and see if someone could use it. It is sitting in the dining room area next to the china hutch.
  3. I am just tired from working five days a week. I love my job working with Special Education, but my body is tired. The whack in the head a few weeks ago when an 8′ post dislodged after I closed the gate (which didn’t close well; Charles has now fixed that, thank you!) didn’t do me any favors, either. Yoda was hit with it also. I did go to the emergency room on the following Monday and I just had a mild concussion. 🙂

So I am hoping to get back to regular posts soon! I’ve been walking a lot and we are still working on the fence. We are going to begin putting in posts for the south fence this coming weekend and we are also going to work on insulating the new garden shed. It’s still good weather outside so this is the time to get fall projects done. 🙂

And here are this week’s featured posts…

Debra from Common Ground is back with a lovely all-white fall vignette in this post (featuring her Snowy Owls DIY) ~ October Entry with Snow Owls. Lovely!!!

Well, my computer is fixed but for whatever reason, WordPress has gone and done something with how one “colors” words/phrases, etc… The weird yellow highlighting sections last week WAS NOT there when I published and now it is, and I can’t remove any of it without redoing the section… Makes me want to roll my eyes and act like one of my PABS students, lol!

This is also going to be a short SYS this week because I have a raging migraine from too much noise at school today (mostly students screaming).

I will publish here at 6:00pm but it won’t be DONE until probably closer to 7:00pm with all the features, just so you know. 🙂 Other than that, Hubby and I picked up more wood posts and some other materials this past weekend prepping for Phase 2 of the fence move/rebuild. Hopefully beginning this coming weekend, depending upon weather. 🙂

Well, let’s get into this week’s features, shall we??

And here are this week’s featured posts…

Well, friends, my computer is fixed (yeah!)!!! It turned out to be just a matter of moving over a year+ of photos (and their folders) and a bunch of documents and videos. Then the Apple tech was able to help me download a new operating system ~ Mojave. Technically this is an older system now, but new to my 9 year old Mac Book Pro!

So let’s check out all the wonderful features from two weeks ago this week! And I have been ignoring all the skeletons and Halloween things, but I do enjoy tablescapes so one or two might creep in… (pun intended). 😉

Here’s what I shared this past week at French Ethereal…

Fall in the Potting Shed ~ a look at how our shed is coming along as we bring garden supplies and equipment inside as well as updates coming in the future.

Enjoy!!

Here’s what I shared this past week at French Ethereal…

Add a Little Fall Color to Your Bedroom ~ an offshoot Pinterest Challenge post.
Please keep Cindy who writes County Road 407 in your prayers. Her son was in a serious motorcycle accident over the weekend.

Happy Wednesday, y’all! The shed is coming along but not quite where I’d like it to be to be able to share the inside, so hopefully next week. 😉 Other than that, we had a quiet Labor Day weekend and just worked on getting the backyard into shape and more things moved into the shed.

I did however get out in the garden and shoot some evening plant photography! Hope you’ll stop by and check out my little garden. <3

***SYS is getting out a tiny bit late today because… A BIG box with Bright and Shiny came today!!! (Okay, really more Chippy White…)

Of course I had to snap a few pics… 😉

Can’t wait to share!!! XD

And, I am sooo inspired by all the fall posts coming out (and the fact that this weekend was just the tiniest bit cooler) that I am looking for fall posts now… If you have some fun ones in the works, do link those, too!

As for myself, I’ve moved more garden items into the shed and have been cleaning everything before it gets in there. Three mice were living on the hutch, so it was sprayed and wiped down with disinfectant before it ever got carried in last week. Now it’s just wiping all the other things. 😉 And I tweaked the SYS logo pic just a bit for fall… Still loving the dried roses in the background.

Here’s what I shared this past week at French Ethereal…

And here are this week’s featured posts…

With fall weddings in the works, I just had to share this fun post by Michelle at her new blog Wedding Soirées Blog by K’Mich. My son and daughter-in-love had their first dog in their wedding photos… Luna loved being with them and I think she knew it was special… (So doggone adorable, don’t you think?!!)

green sequined dress, green satin kimono, formal wear, fashion over 40, Shelbee on the Edge, Style Imitating Art
Sooo excited that Shelbee from Shelbee on the Edge shared this post in her continuing series called Style Imitating Art: Ellen Terry as Lady MacBeth by John Singer Sargent. Lovely rendition and the turquoise blue-greens are stunning as is Shelbee’s amazing dress!
The Soul of a Rose, John William Waterhouse

I love Sargent’s work and have several of my own from others who painted in this style. This group of painters were called The Pre-Raphaelites. Here is The Soul of a Rose, my personal favorite print bought on my birthday one year, and one I have as a greeting card ~ which was taped up as “art” when we were living in our trailers, you may recall. Love love love this ethereal style of art they captured in these paintings!!!

My inlaws drove home safely ~ it was really nice to visit with my mother-in-law Gini, SIL Jodi and nephew Corey over the past two weeks! I know they were happy to get home last Saturday afternoon, as we all are after a long trip away. 🙂

I am finally feeling better after coming down with an “unspecified virus” which the doctor at the local urgent care thinks might be Post-Covid Syndrome. I am just happy I tested negative for a number of things and the results just came back from the mammogram. Nothing out of the ordinary; just the usual-for-me fibrous tissue. 💜

We took down the old shed and are waiting for the new one’s arrival! It looks like it might come on Friday so I sent off to the City to request a final permit. There should be no issues now since all their issues were with location and the rest had previously been finalized. I’ll be happy when it is fully installed and I no longer have to talk to the City…

And can you believe it is 4th of July this weekend, already??… Where has time flown?? Lots of fun ideas here this week for celebrating!

Here’s what I shared this past week at French Ethereal…

Prepping for a New Shed ~ the saga continues and I am ready to be DONE!

And here are this week’s featured posts…

For our daughters and any of us still in shape to wear fun tops like this, Maya over at The Little Treasures shared this fun pattern to crochet! ~ Madison Top Pattern Release. When I was a teen, I had some really cute strappy tops like this but nowadays, it’d be a “backyard-only” on me! My daughter however… 😉 Love the retro 70’s vibe!!!
8 Spray Paint Projects To Do
Rachelle from My Hubbard Home shares this fun post for updating our home decor on a budget ~ 8 Spray Paint Projects to do This Weekend. Love ’em all!!!

Debbee from Debbee’s Buzz shared this neat travel-related post ~ Steamboat Springs Sky High Hot Air Balloon Festival. Don’t y’all just love seeing a balloon liftoff?!! I had to work the front gate on the night they did the “glow” for the Temecula Valley Balloon and Wine Festival (when we lived on Lake Skinner, our year + as RV camp hosts), BUT we could see a little from the main entry kiosk! 🙂 And of course lots of balloons flying over the next morning!

This past week I’ve been over to McKinney with my mother- and sister-in-law visiting a friend of Jodi’s who moved there back about 20 years ago. Gini and I went over to the City of McKinney’s Vital Statistics building and happily found a microfiche of her grandfather and grandmother’s marriage license from 1897!

On Friday evening, we went to a Texas Rangers’ game down in Arlington. They ended up losing but we enjoyed getting out and trying some ballpark foods and listening to the crowds and announcer, and enjoying the ballgame live.

Saturday was a workday and Gini, Jodi and Corey (my nephew, who flew in on Friday morning) drove over to Farmersville to watch an IOOF and a group of local re-enactors honoring of an 1812 soldier from the area. Because of the busy week, I didn’t go but I would have enjoyed the ceremony. I slept all Saturday afternoon.

My mother-in-law Gini, sister-in-law Jodi and hubby Charles
Corey showing off his perfect pizza!

Sunday we enjoyed baking homemade pizzas out in the Ooni and then we worked on a satin banner project Gini is making for a future IOOF ceremony.

This banner will have a purple backing and other images placed around it and wording at the top and bottom. Should be neat when it is all done!

Since Monday, I’ve been down with a cold or Covid-type feeling illness… If it is Covid related, two days on, the vaccine is beating it down and I am feeling better today. 🙂

And thank you, friends! We had 84 links up last week, and there were so many good posts to look through to feature. Keep ’em coming!…

Share Your Style #298

Welcome, friends, to this week’s Share Your Style #298!!! Happy Wednesday to you all!

This link party is for home decor, DIY, crafts, recipes and the like, but you are more than welcome to share any of your family-friendly posts with us all. Please feel free to share this post too and join my small but loyal band of friends. I appreciate you!
As always, I am glad that you are here…

Woowee! I am so sorry about last Wednesday… I should have called off the week before as I knew I was getting my second Covid-19 vaccine last Wednesday morning, but then thought I’d be back in time (and feel well enough to run SYS). Well, at 6:00p.m. I was still in Oklahoma and by 8:00p.m., the time I got home, I was beginning to “freeze.” I had the usual reaction (again) with fever and chills, body aches, head ache and just sleeping hours…

This week, I am good, except during the time between the first and second shots, I was tripped backwards by a student at school, so… I have a broken tailbone (looked like a spiral fracture, but I could be wrong). Now I am out on Worker’s Comp leave! Crazy year…

Anyway, I hope you all had a wonderful Easter!!! He is risen!!! I got no Easter posts out, really. I’ve been in the winter funk for a while and with so many changes at work (plus getting the virus in the fall, and now this injury…), I have been feeling overwhelmed. With this leave, I should have plenty of time to get myself back to “normal.” 😉

Enjoy this week’s features, friends! It’s good to be back… 🙂
