Sweet Details of Little Girl's French Bedroom - So Much Better With Age

So Much Better With Age.
I had the best time decorating my daughter’s and son’s bedrooms
over the years (I can hardly wait for grandkids so I can create a bedroom for them to come and stay in!)

Cozy white master bedroom makeover Ashely Phipps at Simply Designing shared a bedroom makeover and
I love it’s simplicity and neutral greys and whites ~ very pretty! Plus
with this lovely upholstered and nailhead trimmed headboard it still has
that French style which I love.

These corn pudding muffins from Julie’s Creative Lifestyle just look
so delicious and soft and creamy. Can’t wait to bake some! Yummy!

Katie’s cute redo of her little van into a truck at Let’s Add Sprinkles is just perfect for spring. Part of 10 on the 10th which I was also a participant this time. 😉

What would springtime be without thinking about upcoming proms and weddings?? Well, this incredible prom bouquet made by Nicki at
Sweet Parrish Place was made entirely of grocery store flowers…
yeah, that beautiful!!!

I’d like to mention a few Honorable Mention posts too which aren’t necessarily in my normal decor or recipe categories, but I like them because of movies and other things…

1. Paula at Frog Prince Paperie shared the cutest Princess Bride movie t-shirts
and she shares the links to where you can get the downloadable SVGS. Still not sure what an SVGS {savages? ;)} but I know your kids would enjoy wearing these!

2. Tania at Little Vintage Cottage made the sweetest miniatures scenes in walnut shells ~ just adorable!

Thank you for coming over and please congratulate everyone featured here today! And thanks for the back-linking, too. We appreciate it!

Now let’s party!

Share Your Style #185

Welcome to week #185 of Share Your Style! This week, Kim from Serving Up Southern is your host.
Hi everyone! Kim here… are y’all ready to see the features from this week’s party?
A graphic image of the Share Your Style linkup logo.
Before we get started, I want to encourage you to pay these talented bloggers a visit:
An image of the seven co-hosts of the Share Your Style parties.
I’m sure I can speak for all of us when I say we would love for you to follow us on our blogs and social media. It’s a great way to keep up with the latest and get to know us.

Recently, over at Serving Up Southern, I shared:

Holiday Stovetop Simmer: A Perfect Homemade Blend - Sliced oranges, cranberries, cinnamon, cloves, rosemary twig, and bay leave on a counter with a white pot in the background.
White Chocolate Cranberry Cookies on a pretty platter.
Thank you to everyone that linked up to last weeks party! You gave me so many choices to choose from. It’s never easy picking just a few.

Here are a few of my favorites from last week:

I love the Christmas Table In Red that Anita over at Cedar Hill Farmhouse shared. She gives some great tips on preparing your table for holiday entertaining.

What about this DIY that Paula from Virginia Sweet Pea shared on making these Frosted Candles?  These would make a beautiful candle display for Christmas.

I love how Ashley shows us How To Make A Farmhouse Christmas Wreath over at Simply Designing. Seriously, how cute would this look gracing a door at Christmas? I love the simplicity of it.

Y’all! Be sure and go check out these adorable 5 Free Vintage Truck Christmas Printables from Krista over at The Happy Housie! These free printables are the cutest ever and will look great framed for the Christmas season.

Last, but certainly not least, Erin from Suburban Simplicity shares her Reindeer Chow Recipe. How yummy does this look for a festive holiday snack? I know it wouldn’t last long around my house. Well, that wraps up the features for this week. Thanks again for your participation! Congratulations to our featured bloggers. Please be sure and grab our Share Your Style button and share it on your blog.

Places to Visit ~ Finders Keepers Antique & Coffee Shoppe

Here is the post about
Finders Keepers
Antiques and Coffee Shoppe…
{though a few days late with our internet~challenged capabilities!}
😉

As I mentioned in my last post
Coming into this antique mall
right off the main highway
in Percival, Iowa
was such a treat to find!
After traveling for hours by car
bumping over mile after mile of roadway
though enjoying
snapping photos of rolling hillsides,
farms along the way
and silos to my heart’s content,
I still was in need of a break from
sitting or driving…

Antique Mall and Coffee Shoppe
2085 Crossroads Drive, I-29 & Hwy #2, Exit #10
Percival, Iowa 51648

Right off Interstate 29,
Finders Keepers
was a wonderful find and upon entering
the shoppe,
I was greeted by the owners
who were very welcoming.
They asked if there was anything
they could help me find.
There wasn’t really anything
so…
I planned my quick adventure and hooked a left
deciding to scout the perimeter
then come back and zigzag up the middle
finishing out on the right side ending
near the front register
and the display cases there.

One of the first things I found was this incredible
ironstone watering pitcher that I truly, truly wanted
but just couldn’t afford…
It was calling to me desperately saying,
“Take me home!”

I am hopeful that when I am able to afford one,
I’ll find one like it again.
This creamware pitcher was in wonderful condition ~
just a little crazing
and was so, so very pretty…
I still think of calling up Finders Keepers
and inquiring about it…

sigh…

Not much further on these sweet
milk glass~style lamps with ruffled shades
caught my attention.
This pair would look nice lighting up a
vanity or as bedside table lamps.

A Radio Flyer sled would be a fun gift for any child,
and the prairie girl in me loves the whatnot shelf for
displaying special china or brick~a~brac.
Finders Keepers’ purveyors had nice collections of
old Ball canning jars, little wooden children’s chairs, and
a childsize covered wagon ~ something I haven’t
seen before in any antique shop out here
in California.

One such seller displayed a nice collection of
hand~embroidered linens from the 1940’s or 50’s
which were in great shape.
I was tempted to buy a couple and bring them back
especially since a friend of mine
from my old tea group recently copied one which was framed
and hung on another tea~friend’s wall in her
former home.
I’m not usually a kitschy person
but those linens as well as my
little doggy and peppers
did speak to me
and
they certainly are kitschy and
vintage to boot!
😉

In this particular row any of the ladies of
Downton Abbey
would be proud to carry and wear any of these
lovely leather gloves.

Along the back
an area dedicated to vintage books
held many young adult tomes
beloved by readers past.

These charmers would certainly
fit today’s trend of
displaying books with their
spines facing inward and the page ends
facing outward.

Among the middle rows of Finders Keepers tall lighted display cases held shelf upon shelf of Homer Laughlin Fiesta Ware,
two shelves full of frill~edged Shelly teacups,
a fair amount of chintzware with their cheerful colorful
all~over patterns of flowers and these lovely
brown and white Haviland pieces.
Much to drool over!

A personal favorite ~ koala bears made in the 1970’s
from wallaby fur {eventually outlawed}.
At one time, my brothers and I had 32 of
these darling little {and large} koalas that we
used to play with for hours on end.

My brothers Frank, Gene, and Tom with our metal climber and the plumeria trees we used to climb.

There’s a picture I took when I was about 11 years old
which is out on my personal Facebook page
{not French Ethereal}
from around Father’s Day a year or two ago
where I shared a photograph of my three brothers
with the mass of koala bears
atop our backyard picnic table
circa 1972-1973.

And lastly the pink thistle
that I saw out of the window and
I just had to photograph
that started this whole run into
Finders Keepers
antique store!

Hubby had only pulled~in to fill our gas tank
and I had just woken up from an hour~long nap
as I had driven all morning.
It was now a little later in the afternoon.
If I hadn’t left the car
to snap a few photographs,
I wouldn’t have looked around and seen
this shop about 50 feet to the left
from the gas station…
So happy that I did!
Please visit Finders Keepers at their website listed above.
If you click on the brown highlighted words above,
you should be taken
to Finders Keepers website and to my post
about the little doggie and pepper shakers.
Hope they work! 🙂
Finders Keepers is also out on Facebook
which I forgot to mention previously.
***Also, as you’ll see here at the bottom of this posting ~
