Create a Charming St. Patrick’s Day Centerpiece in Five Minutes Tops!

A St. Patrick's Day themed centerpiece featuring a small leprechaun figurine holding a pot of gold, surrounded by green decorative items and a plant.

Hello everyone, and welcome to a quick 5-Minute St. Patrick’s Day centerpiece which can be created in really no time! Let’s make this…

A decorative blue and white teacup on a small plate surrounded by gold buttons and green leaves on a crocheted tablecloth.

I began this centerpiece with a new crocheted placemat found this winter at HomeGoods in a four-pack (not sponsored). I love its lacy look and it gives the right look for a bit of shamrock inspiration!

A decorative sign that reads 'Luck of the' surrounded by purple shamrock plants in a garden setting.

I hoped to use the real maroon shamrocks planted in a big planter out in the garden as part of today’s centerpiece. These were found up in South Dakota at a large and beautiful garden center there a year ago May.

Only problem? They dried out and I hadn’t noticed… ugh! After a quick watering and waiting a couple of hours, they began perking up but were still too droopy.

So, I created a second vignette for you within them! Anyway, I am sure you know where I was going with this St. Patty’s Day centerpiece:

  • Creating a sweet Leprechaun fairy garden… My original idea for today’s centerpiece.
A small leprechaun figurine holding a pot of gold sits among green plant leaves and decorative shamrock beads in a flower pot.

Since the shamrocks were really much too wet to bring inside, we pivoted…

  • I didn’t have to look far for this green Christmas cactus to use as our background greenery. In its blue and white chinoiserie pot, this succulent has the right height and scale to use on our antique oak dining room table.
A greeting card with the text 'Lucky To Have You' featuring vintage illustrations of a young boy in a top hat and a girl in a dress, placed next to a potted plant on a crocheted tablecloth.
  • Hobby Lobby provided the little leprechaun. The sparkly St. Patrick’s Day necklaces were found last year in Corsicana, Texas at the Wal-Mart there (also not sponsored). I did notice that Wal-Mart has similar necklaces again this season, in case you need some for your parties and decorating! 🙂
  • Tucking-in a small vintage-inspired standing “postcard” and laying some gold coins around finished our centerpiece.
A decorative plant featuring a small leprechaun figurine, surrounded by green leaves and gold coins, placed in a blue and white ceramic pot on a lace doily.
  • Oh, and a cute square creamware cake plate sprinkled with shamrocks!
A cozy dining area featuring a wooden table with a potted plant, surrounded by four upholstered chairs with a floral design. A chandelier hangs above the table, and a wall clock is visible in the background, alongside a door leading outside.

A look at the whole table with its simple 5-minute St. Patrick’s Day centerpiece…

A vintage greeting card featuring a boy and girl in traditional attire, sitting together, with the text 'Lucky To Have You' displayed prominently. The card rests on a wooden table adorned with a crochet doily and surrounded by a potted plant and gold coins.

Really, simple decor changes which don’t require a lot of time but are big on style are a total win!

This little bit of leprechaun fun, I feel, fits the bill! No blarney included. 😉
