Which reminds me… Chinese New Year will be Feb. 17 th – Mar. 3rd, 2026. Growing up in Hawaii, the locals liked to celebrate by having their fireworks explode inside of trashcans. This was a tradition in early 1970’s Wahiawa, on Oahu (now part of Mililani City).

I hope you aren’t receiving lots of messages from me… I’ve tried twice before to comment here to thank you for including us in your features but when I’ve hit the blue “comment” button I get a message that says “Nonce verification failed.” I’m trying a different way to reach you so keeping my fingers crossed that this works!
