An Ethereal Fall Tablescape

Happy Weekend, friends! The lighting was perfect the past couple of days during the late afternoon for a nice photoshoot, so… I opened the fall tubs pulling out a few faux pumpkins, adding a little of this, and a little of that, and soon a new fall vignette was created…

Playing house…

It was such a nice afternoon that for the first time in a while, I felt like decorating… The best time! Do you know this feeling? I’ve missed feeling happy making our home pretty. Work definitely drains me of any creative energy.

For this vignette, I began by placing a couple of large white faux pumpkins that I had sparkled several years ago, setting them on top of the rumpled ecru Battenburg lace tablecloth. I thought about ironing the tablecloth but I was going for a Shabby Chic French farmhouse effect.

Next, I added faux berries tucked underneath and between the big pumpkins. As I was laying the berry picks, I added more soft pumpkins to cover and hide the pick ends., and one sweet fabric pumpkin that my daughter and I had created during a Girl Scout meeting many years ago. It is the medium-sized tri-fabric pumpkin on the backside (I need to get a close-up!).

Such fun!

This was really fun to put together as I found so many fall treasures I had forgotten we had… Turkeys my children made when they were little out of pinecones and construction paper, some scarecrows I sewed in my early 20’s when I worked at a yardage shop, and this cheeky little fellow chasing a turkey!

He is part of Enesco’s Feathered Friends collection, of which I have a few pieces…. Those I will share when I show the changes in the china hutch next time. 😉

But for now…

Who doesn’t have a gas dryer in their dining room??

Here’s a sneak peek at the china hutch. I worked on both at the same time, which was really fun! I hadn’t changed the hutch’s vignette since creating the Marie Antoinette look back in early summer… (Still loved it!)

It was time to bring in some autumn colors.

And yes I need to call for the trash folks to pick up the dryer soon… ;)’

Happy weekend!

Barb 🙂

Well, my computer is fixed but for whatever reason, WordPress has gone and done something with how one “colors” words/phrases, etc… The weird yellow highlighting sections last week WAS NOT there when I published and now it is, and I can’t remove any of it without redoing the section… Makes me want to roll my eyes and act like one of my PABS students, lol!

This is also going to be a short SYS this week because I have a raging migraine from too much noise at school today (mostly students screaming).

I will publish here at 6:00pm but it won’t be DONE until probably closer to 7:00pm with all the features, just so you know. 🙂 Other than that, Hubby and I picked up more wood posts and some other materials this past weekend prepping for Phase 2 of the fence move/rebuild. Hopefully beginning this coming weekend, depending upon weather. 🙂

Well, friends, my computer is fixed (yeah!)!!! It turned out to be just a matter of moving over a year+ of photos (and their folders) and a bunch of documents and videos. Then the Apple tech was able to help me download a new operating system ~ Mojave. Technically this is an older system now, but new to my 9 year old Mac Book Pro!

So let’s check out all the wonderful features from two weeks ago this week! And I have been ignoring all the skeletons and Halloween things, but I do enjoy tablescapes so one or two might creep in… (pun intended). 😉
