Setting a Simple Fall Table

Welcome back, y’all! This past weekend was hot but not excruciating, which has been sooo nice. With cooler weather here in North Texas, it made me think about putting together a simple fall tablescape for you. Kind of a Tablescape Tuesday post as some blogging folks like to do. 🙂

I began this tablescape by moving the little pumpkin diorama vignette off the table and onto the buffet. It started out as part of a Pinterest Challenge post and has moved to several places since that post ran.

So, after moving that over, I moved onto dressing the table. I didn’t want anything too fussy so no tablecloth this time.

What to layer for a simple tablescape

• I gathered four woven grass placemats from my decor closet to bring in a bit of autumn’s golden colors.
• Then, I brought out the festive fall sunflower napkin rings I found at HomeGoods (I think) last year.
• From there, I brought out my Villeroy & Boch Botanica dinner plates to put underneath the four Cracker Barrel Woodland bear and pheasant plates.

I was still setting things out and trying to figure out how I wanted to place the napkins when I realized that I caught the laundry room, cleaning supplies on the counter and other things.

Normally all of this stuff gets hidden or put away before I photograph, but this was a happy, spur-of-the-moment table setting so I wasn’t thinking about those things. 😉

Just a fun late afternoon table to give you ideas for decorating yours!

And for a centerpiece, I started with an informal jar wrapped with chickenwire. Then I swapped out the empty jar for the dried flower arrangement I had in the living room.

I am loving it!

(Sorry about the wonky table… This antique table is up on old iron casters so it moves around really easily, hence the rug underneath to keep it more or less in place. Glad the wall behind it is straight, though, lol!… Might be my wide-angle camera lens, too… 😉 )

I may still go pick up some fall flowers for this table and I will add a photograph if I do. For now, I am really happy with how this table looks.
