Merry Christmas!!!

Merry Christmas, dear friends! I hope you have enjoyed a wonderful holiday season celebrating with family and friends. We were able to start our celebrating with my sister-in-law Jodi and nephew Corey when they flew out for Thanksgiving. School finished last Thursday and I’ve been cleaning and doing a lot of resting, too.

Last evening, we attended a candlelight mass at St. Paul’s church here in Denton, Texas, with Gini. Then, today on Christmas Day, we had a nice luncheon with Gramma, my mother-in-law Gini.

I am turning 62 in just a couple of weeks and I am really feeling it working at school everyday. I am ready to retire but can’t just yet. So, a lot of Christmas decorating went by the wayside, as many of you know.

We did pick up a few new things to decorate here in the house and this Santa is new. We found him at Lowe’s and I love his Nordic look! He goes nicely with the after-Christmas pillow I found at the store At Home a couple of years ago on clearance for $5.00.

It had a big tear in the velvet on the back, but that was an easy fix for this seamstress! Fun to share them both with you here today. 🙂

Our Christmas tree 2023

This Christmas, I put up our little 4′ tall (3′??), $27.00 Sam’s Club tree found right before Christmas, I think, towards the end of our first year that we were here in Texas.

It was used in our RV the second Christmas we were here.

Night and Day

This post will hop back and forth from daytime to night, so no, it’s not your eyes! 😉 I am happy for a bit of rest and it has been nice to just take some time here these past four days.

Just a bit of our nighttime tree…

Only two boxes were taken down from the 12 I think we have filled with all kinds of Christmas goodies. Happily, these two boxes included most of my white and ethereal Christmas ornaments! Here is one of the handmade snowflakes I believe my mother sent me one year.

I have a number of hand-tatted ones and I hung six different snowflakes off the mantel this season.

I love bringing out my collection of Christmas pillows! I think the first ones I ever found were at JC Penney years ago. The Santa and child pillow is a needlepoint pillow found there and I think it and one of the small angel pillows were the very first.

I can’t believe that I am showing you the overflowing bookcases! I need to weed books and sell them to a local reseller.

And I’d like to finish up with a photo of our newest Nativity found several years ago at Hobby Lobby. I talked with Mr. Ethereal about making a creche to surround the Holy family, wise men and shepherd.

Well, that’s it for this late evening (now next morning)! I keep falling asleep. Just wanted to share a little from our Christmas home to yours.
