Love is in the air

Well, hello there! We have a snow day here in North Texas today and it was a good call by our school district to close down for a couple of days… Nice gentle rains yesterday evening turning into snow early, early in the morning. But, by 5:00am, the snow changed into freezing rain… Just a bit hazardous for school buses and folks to be out driving in it! My head cold is still going strong, too, so I went to bed early last night and just didn’t have the energy to get this post out. (think: emoji w/ rolling eyes upward…) Today is a new day and I have been able to get things done!

Our latest news: Yoda was quick about getting out and back in this morning, and he usually enjoys walking about in the snow. Coming up on 16 years old (I kept thinking he already was 16 last year; I was wrong.) this spring, he just doesn’t have the musculature to keep him warm anymore. I think the cold must really hurt his joints. He still comes inside all frisky for a few minutes each morning and evening, though! He is also enjoying having my mother-in-law here every day to let him out around noon-time and to give him more loving pets and cuddles throughout the day! 💜

Hubby and I have been house hunting with her on the weekends since New Year’s when they got back here from California, and even this past Monday evening we drove over to tour a home, so no posts again this past week for me. She did put in an offer on the home we saw on Monday night and hopefully she will hear back yea or nay soon. 🙂

This is all of my latest news, besides just going to work everyday, so let’s get this belated party started!!!

  1. Barb, I just saw my niece post photos of her littles outside in Austin, making snow angels on their trampoline :), and catching snowflakes! I hope our county makes a similar decision in the morning when our rain is supposed to convert to ice. Our hills and other secondary roads are treacherous in bad weather! Thanks so much for the feature of my Valentine tablescape (Lynne’s too!). I hope your mil gets the house! And I hope you get to feeling better. My little 5 mo grandgirl is getting over a month of illness, including Covid and a cold with fever both. Just another reason to be glad January is in the rear view mirror!

    1. No kidding! Your poor granddaughter!!! 😫 Glad you like the feature. ♥️ This was a really fun SYS to put together with all the Valentines posts! Hope your niece’s family has great memories of this day always!!! ⛄️❄️♥️

  2. Thank you for featuring my heart shaped cake! I always find so many great recipes and links here. Thank you for hosting, have a wonderful weekend.

  3. Lovely links, all! I’m so glad we can share family friendly posts (like photography and books) and not just homekeeping kinds of things here! Do be careful in the ice. We don’t even do that well on it here and we are a lot more used to it than Texas. Rick is headed to Dallas on Sunday for a week with his mom and I’m hoping it warms up a little by then. I’m not optimistic but one can try! Happy househunting with your MIL!

    1. Thank you, Jeanie! I hope Rick has a good visit with his mother. It’s supposed to be slightly better by Sunday. Charles is staying over in Atlanta since I don’t think planes are flying today and tomorrow. Just too risky! We are all set here: plenty of food, bird seed for feathered friends and tea! Prepping a Valentine’s post hoped for tomorrow. ♥️ Happy Thursday to you!!!

  4. Barb thanks so much for the party. It’s so full of great inspiration. I am honored to be featured along all this great talent. Thank you. I hope you’re feeling better. Be careful in the snow & ice. Stay warm. Good thing you’re well equipped so you do not have to leave the house. Speaking of houses, good luck to your MIL. Looking forward to your Valentine’s post. XO- MaryJo

  9. Hi Barb, It’s always such a pleasure to visit your site. Seems this winter is especially cold and snowy in your part of the country. We’ve had unusual snow here too. I enjoy your features throughout the week and appreciate the opportunity to share at the link party. Thanks for the feature for “Valentine’s Day Tea Party”. It’s always a pleasure to work with such talented gals.
