Happily this week I have some news on our new garden shed! I received a text this week from Wolf Valley Buildings.com wanting to schedule our shed’s arrival, so… Now it’s all about prepping the site and removing all the junk in that area, including the current shed.

Next, as you will see here, I finished the painting in our master bedroom and bathroom. What a big project! As any of you painters out there know, it was about 100 hours from start to finish for the three areas of commode, bathroom and the 15′ x 17′ bedroom with 14′ ceilings at the peak. The crown moulding had never been painted in any of the areas and was put up with just original primer on it, so that all needed special attention. I didn’t get rid of the “alligatoring” from humidity like I should have in the bathroom area, but will another time. I wanted to finish before my mother-in-law and sister-in-law arrived. They are here now and the bedroom was finished this Friday.

So now it’s back to focusing on the garden with prep for the garden shed!… :💜

Here’s what I shared this past week at French Ethereal…

A Star-Spangled Blue Jean Recycle Placemat Project ~ a fun idea I’ve had waiting for this pair of jeans to finally wear out in order to make!
A Glowing New Look for Our Master Bedroom/Bathroom ~ So happy to have this job completed but really just so happy to have a light and bright bedroom and bathroom now! Really loving it!!

    1. Hi Jeanie! You are most welcome!! I appreciate the love on the bedroom repaint. 🙂 It was a job and a half but finally made easier when I figured out rolling the ceiling in one long stroke was the best technique. It’ll make it lots easier to do the rest.

      Glad you enjoyed your feature,
      Hugs,
      Barb 🙂

  1. Wow, what a job you had in all that painting! I hope you get to enjoy your visit, gearing up for that next project: the she shed! Thank you for taking time to host us too, Barb.

    1. Thank you, Rita! We have had a nice visit and my MIL, SIL and nephew head back home tomorrow. I’ve felt under the weather since Monday so they’ve been on their own most of the week, but today I feel better. 🙂 One last day to enjoy working on a craft project Gini wants to get done while here. 🙂

      Thanks again,
      Barb 🙂

    1. Thank you so much, Sandra! It was driving me crazy to paint the ceiling… Yes, perfectionism is a detriment when painting… 😉

Have a great day and I hope to see you later for SYS this week,
      Barb 🙂

  2. Barb.
Thanks again for hosting this lovely party every week! I know how much time and effort goes into doing so and it is greatly appreciated!! Stay safe, healthy and happy!!
    Hugs,
    Debbie

    1. Thank you, Debbie! I try but some weeks I feel I fail… My MIL, SIL and nephew are still here through today so today’s SYS might be a short one. Bummer as I really like to share between 7 to 10 features, a good smattering!

Enjoy your day and I hope to see you later on,
      Barb 🙂

    1. Hi Debra! Thank you so much!! We are enjoying the bedroom’s new paint color and it is making ALL THE DIFFERENCE in how I feel everyday! :DDD

Enjoy your day and I hope to see you later at SYS,
      Hugs,
      Barb 🙂

  3. Oh wow, Barb, I am impressed by how much painting you accomplished! I have so many painting projects in my house and I just can’t seem to get motivated! Soon though! Thanks for hosting, my friend!

    1. Hi Shelbee! Thanks so much!! Painting the bedroom was a big project. My husband was really happy that I didn’t have him do it. 😉 His big project is coming moving the current shed and getting the backyard ready for the new one.

Have a great day and I hope to see you later on for SYS,
      Hugs,
      Barb 🙂

  4. Barb, what a lot of work you put into painting — whew! All that effort really paid off. Great job! Thank you for featuring my Uncle Sam wreath! I just put it up for Flag Day. He’ll like hang around my home until at least July 4th. After that I usually pull out the watermelon and ants wreath I made. So many wreaths and only so much seasonal time to display theme lol!

    1. Thank you so much, Debbee! Painting the bedroom has been really rewarding and we are really loving its new color. I’m glad you enjoyed seeing Uncle Sam featured!! He’s cute! 🙂 I know what you mean about wreaths… I only really have a few Christmas ones and a couple of Valentines wreaths, but storing them is always a challenge (Hubby is getting used to going up and down the attic stairs putting up and retrieving boxes for each season.).

Have a great day and I hope to see you later for SYS,
      Hugs,
      Barb 🙂

    1. Thank you so much, Amber! We are enjoying the bedroom’s new wall color soooo much!! 🙂 I’m glad you came over again; I know it’s hard with school just finishing and your very busy writing schedule. <3

Hope to see you later for SYS,
      Hugs,
      Barb 🙂
