Share Your Style #281

Happy Share Your Style Wednesday, y’all!

Welcome to
this week’s Share Your Style #281!
This link party is for home decor, DIY, crafts, recipes and the like, but you are more than welcome to share your family-friendly posts with us all. Please feel free to share this post too and join my small but loyal band of friends.

I appreciate you!

As always, I am glad that you are here… 💜

Happy Veterans’ Day, friends!!! From this USMC family to yours, Uuuurrrraghhhhh! Well… If you’ve noticed a strange look to my face here, the blog in general, well, I FINALLY migrated the blog to WordPress. I am excited to make the move and it’s a bit scary, too. WP has a lot to offer that my happy Blogger account didn’t.

Mainly, I have been looking into WP for two years because of its capability to incorporate email. I have gone into Inlinkz and downloaded a bunch of your emails to files to create a spreadsheet and will test an email soon. I apologize if you DON’T want to be emailed by me here at French Ethereal and you’ll be able to unsubscribe, of course!

On the COVID-19 issues, Charles tested positive on Saturday. My 2nd test last Monday was also positive, probably due to the pneumonia being left untreated (my thoughts). This week I am FINALLY feeling much better. I just get tired easily so I am putting in for more time off from school until I get fully recovered. I just pick up colds and other viruses too easily.

All right, friends! Let’s get this SYS going…

I am Barbara Chapman and I’d love it if you’d follow me here on my blog and on any of my other social media sites, too.  Thank you!💜

Here’s what I shared this past week at French Ethereal…

Celebrating Thanksgiving into Christmas with Subtle Changes ~ $10 on the 10th
Giving Thanks for Fall Changes in the Cupboard

And here are this week’s featured posts…

A Very Thankful Table for Six ~ from Fabby over at Fabby’s Living. I love her table and of course the beautiful turkey tureen!!!

Amber of Follow the Yellow Brick Home shared her beautiful farmhouse home dining table set for Thanksgiving in this autumnal post ~ A Thanksgiving Tablescape Sneak Peak by Cozy Candlelight. Love her home!!!
Amber from The Hungry Mountaineer shares her fall style with us ~ Fall Fashion at Lundy Lake…ish. Love everyone’s fall fashions! Makes me want to shop… 😉
Rita of Panoply shared her gorgeous feathers and thistle tablescape in this Thanksgiving post ~ Thistle and Pheasant Run Thanksgiving Tablescape. Part of a fun blog hop from last week. <3

I think I will stop here for this week and pray, friends, that this works! <3

A big Thank You to everyone who linked up this past week. A special thank you to y’all for always promoting Share Your Style on your blog and on your social media channels! I do see it when I stop by and I appreciate the love. 💜
If you have been featured here at Share Your Style… Here is a button to copy to your site and to share.

If you’d like to follow my Share Your Style board on Pinterest I’d appreciate it, thank you! I do post all of the featured posts from each week’s SYS there.

Hope this is going to work… Giving it a try! If anyone can leave me a comment as to HOW to add the WP shortcode or the long code (if this DOESN’T work!) and tell me how to fix this week’s SYS Inlinkz, that’d be great!!! Crossing my fingers…

If it DOESN’T WORK, I will figure it out and edit according to what I find, so… the party stays open until next Monday evening at 6:00p.m. CST, so just keep stopping back by to try and link up again. Happily, I was able to bring over some of your photos and add links… 🙂

You are invited to the Inlinkz link party!

  1. Barb,
Sorry I can’t help with wordpress but linking to party was easy.
I wish you were feeling better and sorry for Charles
🙂 Milo is adorable by the way-

    1. Thank you, Lisa! It looks like my shortcode on this side but I am glad it worked. 🙂 I saw your post showing on Inlinkz so whew!!! Back to trying to figure other things out. 😉

      Enjoy your week,
      Barb

  2. Hi Barb, I’ve wondered about wordpress but just didn’t feel up to all the stress of a move. I’m not seeing a viable link to the party Inlinkz. Glad you’re feeling better, this Covid has really been hard on you. I’m totally isolating from everyone except my husband because I’m at the top of the high risk catagory.

    1. Hi Debra! It should be working now. I got on the Chat line at WP and I previewed it and it shows the posts added, etc. I had to “create a new block with HTML” (one of the new things I’m learning about editing in WP) and add it there. WP then converts it when it shows “in view.” Seriously, it had taken me 3 years of looking at WP, starting to bring posts over (1 year ago), then finally just biting the bullet! 🙂 I went to your site yesterday to see who you wrote in and saw it was Blogger. Your site looks nice! I liked mine, too, but I’ve never been able to really send emails, just from Inlinkz for the SYS party, and it’s generic. 🙂

Hope you will come on back by,
      Hugs,
      Barb
p.s. If you relink up your “Transitioning a Fall Entry to Thanksgiving,” I’ll share it next week. Going to prep early for SYS this weekend so I can work on the bugs… 😉

  3. Barb, I’d love to share but I can’t find a link — just code which doesn’t link to the sign up for the party entries. Ideas?

I’m sorry you’re still testing positive. Take care and hang in there. Be gentle with yourself. Please.

    1. Hi, Jeanie!! I just got off a chat with WP’s helpline and I created a “new block with HTML.” So easy if you know what you are doing! LOl!! 🙂 It’s working now, I tested it. Surprisingly 11 people were able to get in. Maybe the shortcode worked for them. I pulled the regular long code which is what I’ve always used in Blogger. 🙂

Looking forward to seeing what you share,
      Hugs,
      Barb 🙂

  4. Oh Barb, I am so sorry to hear that you are still feeling awful. I do hope you can get your energy levels back to normal soon. Sending you lots of healing energy. The new WP blog format looks great, by the way!

      1. Hi Shelbee! It should now. I just fixed it with WP. I LOVE their chat line!! Happy I made the move even though writing this post yesterday was soooo stressful! Lol! Stop back by and let me know if it doesn’t work. Surprisingly, 11 people were able to use it, but it might have been because they are on WP and the shortcode works for them. Changed to the regular long code which I am used to using in Blogger. 🙂

        Thanks again,
        Barb 🙂

    1. Hi Carol, yes I will look up Grayson’s FB page; I need all the help I can get. 🙂 I went ahead and paid for the business plan and I am amazed at all the different things you can edit. It’s like a master spreadsheet… I’ll need my husband’s help to figure it all out! He’s good at that as it’s what he does all day for work. 🙂

Hope you are all well in your family! It’ll be nice to get together again once everyone has had the COVID-19 (did you know there are four different strains, alphas and betas?? probably why I’ve had it twice…) vaccine. <3 Would be fun to go to lunch and shopping…

Enjoy this lovely weather we are having,
      Hugs,
      Barb 🙂

    1. Hi Sarah! Thank you so much!! Rita’s table is lovely… She has a beautiful home. Will stop over your blog to read… It has been a while, I’m sorry… <3

Hope all is well with you and your family,
      Happy fall hugs,
      Barb 🙂

  5. Oh honey I’m sorry you both got tested positive for COVID ! Please take care and you will be out of this in no time. Hubby and me were sick with COVID June and part of July. We didn’t have any strong symptoms and yet Alejandro is 73 years old. I will pray for both of you.
Thank you so much for the feature ! Hubby will be so happy as the china was his gift for me for my last birthday, Oct. 20th. What an honor pretty lady !
    Please take care and blessings.
    Fabby

    1. Thank you so much, Fabby! Your husband did good with finding this beautiful china pattern for you. <3 I'm sorry you were sick earlier this year… Isn't it aweful?!! I am still getting really tired but I am pretty sure that it is finally done. My lungs are able to expand fully! Will be retesting again next Monday (over a month) and hoping it is negative this time. Happy birthday, btw!!! My mother-in-law's birthday is also October 20th. 🙂

      Stay safe and well,
      Big hugs,
      Barb 🙂

  6. So sorry to hear you guys are still dealing COVID, Barb. I know it hasn’t been an easy journey at all and I continue to pray for you and your family. Sending you big hugs and thank yous for hosting, CoCo

    1. Thank you, CoCo! I am feeling WAY better!! I stood at the local urgent care for almost 1 1/2 hrs. waiting for a final nasal test. Should hear in a couple of days but I am sure it is negative this time. HUGS bunch of people waiting for tests. I heard from another school employee (there for the COVID test, too) that our school district may go to online, finally! It’d be nice. 🙂 Anyway, thank you so much for your prayers. They are working!! <3

      Hugs,
      Barb 🙂

    1. Hi Penny! Glad you enjoyed the feature. <3 I love your sweet barn and of course now I want one!! Barn envy… ;)'

Enjoy your beautiful fall weather and happy decorating for Christmas,
      Hugs,
      Barb 🙂

  7. Barb, I am so sad to learn both you and your husband tested positive. Isn’t this just a nightmare that won’t seem to ever END? I am praying for a vaccine, and prayers for you both to feel better soon. Hang in there. Better days are coming.

Good luck with WP. Changes are scary for sure, but you got this.

Take care and let yourselves rest.

    1. Thank you again, Michele!! We are both feeling much better ~ better one week over the next. I am still on leave from school but hope to get back soon. I am praying for a vaccine, too. I don’t know if I could go through this a third time… It is scary and you just don’t know how your body will react. That’s the tough part. Anyway, enjoying learning about WP while home. 🙂

      Have a great week!
      Barb 🙂
